“11:59PM” - A DEADLINE SERIES #Disconnected
Going through a tough time lately?
What are you connected to?
What could be the reason why you are disconnecting from God?
I have known a lot of people. I, myself, am not exempt from this. I feel like I’m distant from God at some point in my journey with Him. It feels like an isolation. I just realized, when you begin to distant or somehow disconnect yourself, not wanting help from other people especially from God will result in isolation.
“You gave your effort to something but feels like it’s not enough. It’s lacking, something.”
These past days, I feel empty. I always think about school stuff. Always struggling with homeworks that should be done on or before 11:59 pm. I noticed that it consumed my devotional time. I feel like I’m being much more selfish than selfless. I lost track.
“My focus is now on worldly things that I forgot my way back home, my spiritual life.”
In the midst of my struggles, it feels like God has left me. But I was wrong! I was the one who isolated myself. I remember in James 4:08, “Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” I realized that God is just there, that He never left me.
Note this, don’t let what you are facing right now, maybe problems or struggles that can stir up your faith from disconnecting to God. Out there, are compassionate, kind people you will encounter and interact with. Ask God to show you what should be your next move. Either going to church, start your devotional, create linkage to a bible study, or just simply listen to Him. In that way, God will speak to you.
Jesus paved the way and made it possible for you to have a restart in your life. It doesn’t mean that you will be immune from temptation. God is a righteous God. Ask for forgiveness and He will forgive you. Ask for your way back home and He will lead the way.
So, if you get knocked down, you can always get up and start again. Don’t allow yourself to be disconnected from God. Keep reconnecting to His presence. Just a thought I want to leave you, “God is still right there, whether you are in tune with His relentless presence or not.”
He is your WAY BACK HOME.
Love,
Adel
