Friendship is one of the most important relationship that we can have in our life. You have friends, right? What about your go to friend, the one whom you go if you have problems—a friend that always cheers you up and understands you of what you are going through. The one who corrects you and nurtures you, and the only friend that can say mean things about you. I believe you have that friend. Being with that kind of friend is somewhat comfortable and relaxing, assuring us that we are safe. Moreover, did you know that we have a unique friend, that being with Him is not just for comfort or relaxing, but of peace and joy—His name is Jesus.
Jesus is your friend! Can you believe that? How is that even possible? Why is that? John 15:15 I have never called you ‘servants,’ because a master doesn’t confide in his servants, and servants don’t always understand what the master is doing. But I call you my most intimate friends, for I reveal to you everything that I’ve heard from my Father. Jesus calls you as His most intimate friend! He knows your dark thoughts, the condition of your heart and even if you are sinful—He calls you friend. The question is WHY? I believe that it is an invitation to have a relationship with Him.
Your sin won’t matter.
Your dark thoughts won’t matter.
Your past won’t matter.
As long as you accept His friendship, all of that won’t matter!
John 15:13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. Even with all of those sins you have done in your life, He laid down His life for you. He loves you so much as His friend that instead of you dying with your sin—He died for you. You have a friend that is always there for you, rooting for you, accepts you even if you stumble and fall into temptation. A friend that will embrace you of who you are no matter how dark your past and even at the point of not believing Him—He still considers you a friend. He sacrificed himself for you. There is no other friend capable of doing that for us, only Jesus.
As you are reading this right now, I know there is something prompting in your heart that you don’t understand. Don’t ignore that, accept His invitation to become friends with Him and surely, will transform your life. Maybe, you don't have friends right now or they don’t care about you—always remember, you have a friend who is waiting for you His name is Jesus.
